Brief description
This event is titled "What Silicon Valley Companies are Doing in Africa". This is the first in a series that
will be spearheaded by TAN. This will showcase the efforts of various Silicon Valley Companies with respect to fostering entrepreneurship
and creating opportunities on the ground in Africa. TAN and Fenwick are honored to kick-off this series with GOOGLE. Mr. Randy Knaflic, Director,
Google EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa), will join us on Thursday, September 23, to present and discuss what his company is doing in Africa.
Mr. Barry Kramer, a Partner at Fenwick and West, LLP, will moderate the event. You are invited to join us at this event.

Short Biographies

Randy Knafic
Director of Engineering and Product Staffing Google Inc.
Mr. Knafic leads Google's recruiting organization in EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa).
Hired in 2005 to help grow their newly formed European engineering hub in Zurich, Switzerland, Knaflic has since built a world class recruitment
organization and lead Google's rapid expansion across 12 engineering sites. In addition, Randy is responsible for Google's EMEA-focused University
Relations and Talent & Outreach Programs teams, focused on developing Google's partnerships with Academia and Industry.
A 14-year veteran of technology recruiting and executive search, Randy helped build a number of successful software development companies.
Prior to joining Google, Randy spent the past six years running RecruitPartner, a New York City boutique search and advisory firm designed to assist
companies in developing effective recruitment strategies while attracting top talent. Originally from the United States, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin,
Randy is an avid marathon runner, enjoys cooking, traveling, music production and plays jazz saxophone.

Barry J. Kramer
Partner Fenwick and West, LLP
Mr. Kramer represents a wide range of technology and life science companies, from privately held start-ups to publicly traded companies, as well as prominent venture capital funds.
Mr. Kramer has spoken numerous times on various business and legal topics, including teaching an accredited course at UCSF
entitled "A Scientist's Guide to Intellectual Property" and speaking at various PLI programs related to venture investing. He
is the author of a quarterly venture capital survey, as well as a firm brochure on technology licensing.
Barry has a JD from the Stanford School of Law and a BS from the Wharton School of Business, University of Pennsylvania.
